Williams, homeless male, wanted as voice of Cleveland Cavs

If the hostile U.S. career climate has taught us anything, perhaps it’s that one should not take opportunities for granted. Things could have gone like they did for Ted Williams, a homeless Ohio man. Williams has been through a lot, and it appears that his perseverance might have paid off. The Sporting News accounts that Williams, once displaced, has rocketed to viral recognition and may become the new tone of voice of Quicken Loans Arena for the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers. He’ll now move up from begging for money to applying for personal loans; that is some jump. Source of article – Ted Williams, homeless man, wanted as voice of Cleveland Cavs by MoneyBlogNewz.

Homeless Williams is now the Cavs tone of voice

Every day is a precious day for displaced Ted Williams, not Ted "The Splendid Splinter" Williams. Williams had drug and alcohol problems after having a progressive young life. After that, he spent years homeless. He lost his home due to the problems. Using what he calls his "God-given" tone of voice, Williams panhandled more successfully than most.

However, a reporter from the Columbus Dispatch newspaper happened to stumble across Williams one day, and the wheels set in motion. Impressed by Ted Williams’ voice, the reporter called him over. This led to a video interview that easily made its way to YouTube, where it went viral. Within 24 hours, Ted Williams’ radio voice had reached almost 5 million viewers.

The YouTube portal to fame

Williams was offered a full time career and a place to live after being displaced due to a Columbus Dispatch reporter and YouTube. Tracy, a representative of Cleveland Cavaliers National Basketball Association basketball team and Quicken Loans, decided to search more about the homeless Ohioan, Williams, after the video went viral. In order to offer Williams a full time job and a home mortgage, Tracy called WNCI 97.9 radio station. She asked if he would come to home of the Cavaliers, Quicken Loans Arena, and be a public address announcer. The job offer was then confirmed by Darren Rovell from CNBC. He did this through Twitter.

'Homeless DJ’ getting career proposals

There were several job offers that came in during Ted William's appearance on WNCI. That was when the Cleveland Cavaliers career came in. It was exciting for many. Many think Williams will accept the career offer from Tracy although it is currently unknown.
