Rumors are plentiful of a new Barracuda

Americans love muscle automobiles, and also the next to come back might be the Barracuda. Retro styles are being revived. Performance cars are given old looking facelifts. The return of classics entices people. One of probably the most anticipated to come back has been the Barracuda. There’s a hitch, of course. Plymouth hasn’t existed in almost a decade.

The rumor of a Barracuda coming back

SEMA or Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show had an appearance, USA Today reports. Roger Gilles, design head of the Chrysler organization and head of Dodge, made an appearance. Only people within the auto industry are able to show up to the event. New projects had been a question he had been asked. Barracuda was something he happened to mention. For a long time, people kept asking him about it. Bringing it back is something he seems serious about. This doesn’t guarantee the return of the Barracuda, but it wouldn’t be the worst move to make. The Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro both have had retro updates. There had been also the successful return of the Dodge Challenger and the Dodge Charger. Plymouth no longer exists though which made the Barracuda initially.

The MOPAR muscle

The Barracuda made by Plymouth was pretty popular. This is true especially with the muscle cars that went around. Everyone loved Plymouth. This had been since the cars were cheap and performed well. You can get a 273-cubic-inch V8 or 6-cylinder within the first generation which cost about $2,500 from 1964 to 1966. The car got a face lift for 1967, began being offered with a 426-inch Hemi V8 and became a severe pony car. The HemiCuda convertible is one of one of the most valuable cars within the world as it is so rare. Also, numerous want to get their hands on the Hemi 426 and 440s. Production was stopped in 1974.

Plymouth defeated

Since 2001, there has been no Plymouth brand. Bringing back the Barracuda would put it under the Dodge or Chrysler name. This would be the only option.
