A producer of frozen vegetables has announced that some of their packages are not fit to eat. There is a recall. The bundles in question contain frozen peas, and some with mixed vegetables. Shards of glass have been discovered in some of their peas. Only a single lot of frozen peas appear to be impacted so far. Not many bundles contain them. There are only four different packs that contain the contaminated peas. The packages are carried by Kroger stores in the South, and nationally by Wal-Mart. Freezing veggies have glass in them

Much of the freezing food had glass in it. Only one producer had been responsible for this. In Bells, Tenn., there is a company called Pictsweet. This is the company that supplied the freezing veggies to at least two chains. Freezing vegetables from the business go to numerous of the southeast Kroger stores. CNN accounts that all the Wal-Mart stores also get supplied with frozen vegetables from the company. The business did not announce that there would be a recall until there were multiple grievances. Five individuals had to complain about glass in their veggies first. The packages of peas ended up with shards of glass inside them. Other assorted veggies that had peas in them were reported with the issue too. It is believed that the affected parcels all came from a single lot of freezing vegetables. So far, no injuries have been reported from issues related to the recall.

You need to return your package

You are asked to return the packages for a full refund to stores if you bought any packages of the recalled food. Glass is in more than one package. Four of them have the problem. CBS explains that mixed frozen vegetables has the problem, peas and carrots, along with two that have just peas. If customers bought any of the following, they’re urged to give back the packages immediately:

  • Take back the Good Value 12 ounce Steamable Sweet Peas having a “best by” date of July 20 or July 21, 2012
  • Great Value 12 ounce Steamable Mixed Vegetables with “best by” date of July 15, 2012
  • See for those who have a Kroger 12 ounce Green Peas with production code 1440BD, 1440BU, 1440BV or 1440BW
  • Kroger 12 ounce Peas and Carrots with production code 1960BD or 1960BE
